Gauges for the oval

I want to ditch the "modern" Autometer Gauges I had previouly and install some more period correct VDO gauges.

I really love this guys dash

Although I do not want to drill them 3 holes in the dash, but rather mount the guages under the dash...

Still looking for an 80mm VDO tacho (preferably 12V) I can mount in my center oval grill (the clock I have now was purely decoration anyway...).

So if anyone has one or knows one for sale... LET ME KNOW

how to paint them?

Ok guys, how should I paint my removable engine trays?

Body color Polar silver so it will be barely noticeable

or

Black as the engine tin to make people look twice at "what the hell is going on here?"

There is still a gap I need to fill up. This is cause I use a later 60's apron that is different in shape then the oval one...

rear apron

Since I use a removable polyester rear apron, I do not have the inner firewall an original rear apron has.

I will cut up a later rear apron and use this inner part on the oval, easily removable as well offcourse

Mounted = the polyester one

Bottom = original one
